The Director General of Civil Aviation has issued a new circular extending the travel and visa restrictions to India till the end of September 2021.
The previous order issued by the Director General of Civil Association was on the 30th of June. This order had extenged the existing restrictions till the end of July.
Travel restrictions via airways has been in force in India since the June of 2020. It was expected to open completely by the mid of this year. It was working under limited travel allowances since that time due to the fear of COVID-19 infections.
As the positive numbers due to the second wave of infections gradually came under control, all commercial international airlines were expected to reopen in August. But the re-emergence of infections has made the lawmakers rethink that decision.
