India on Monday took the decision to suspend flights to and from the UK till 31st December in view of a new strain of the corona virus detected in the UK. This strain is believed to spread faster than Covid-19. As per reports No flights from the UK will land in India, and vice versa, after 22 December.
However, international all-cargo flights and special flights allowed by the Indian aviation regulator will continue to operate. India currently has air bubble arrangements with as many as 23 countries, including the US and UK.
The decision of flight cancellation has left many Indians residing in the UK in dismay as they were planning to return back home for Christmas and New Year.
This suspension is scheduled to start w.e.f. 23.59 hours, 22nd December 2020. Consequently flights from India to UK shall stand temporarily suspended during above said period.
