The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has decided to open the tourism sector in a phased manner with effect from 14th July. This came as a notification about guidelines for domestic tourists from Govt. of J&K.
In view of the Covid related measures, it is imperative to put in place a protocol to be followed by the tourists as well as the persons/authorities engaged in the hospitality sector. The state Executive committee has issued guidelines for regulating the entry of tourists in the Union Territories of J&K till further orders.
These guidelines will apply to the entry of tourists at J&K in Phase 1. In this phase, tourists will be allowed to arrive by Air only.
Guidelines issued by Government of J&K
- All incoming tourists must have confirmed hotel bookings for the duration of their stay.
- All incoming tourists must have confirmed return air-tickets to any place outside J&K either to their departure point or any other destination.
- There shall be compulsory RTPCR testing for all tourists on arrival.
- Tourists will have to mandatory pre-book their accommodations online in hotels, houseboats or guesthouses etc. The proof of same shall be checked on arrival.
- Till the results arrive, the tourists will have to stay in the hotel where the booking has been made and shall not be permitted to move out.
- Those tourists arriving with Covid-19 negative reports from their departure points will not be required to remain in hotels. They shall however be required to give their samples for RTPCR testing.
- Tourist testing positive will be sent for treatment as per protocol.
- Travel agents, hotels, houseboats and guest houses shall provide pick up facilities from airport for their respective tourists. Prescribed social distancing has to be followed everywhere during transportation.
- All tourists should have Aarogya Setu installed and shall be checked for safe status at arrival.
- The hotels houseboats and guest houses or travel agents will arrange for transport of tourists to the airport.
Previously Goa had also decided to reopen and gradually allow domestic tourists to enter with proper precautions.
