Kerala to Work With Other States to Revive Tourism

Kerala has decided to join hands with tourism boards of other states to revive its domestic tourism. The announcement was made by Kerala Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran at a tourism E-Conclave on Thursday. Organized by FICCI, the e-conclave ‘Travel & Hospitality: What’s Next?’ was held to discuss an action plan for tourism revival.

Promotion of Ayurveda will also be carried out extensively to revive the tourism sector of the state also taking into consideration the importance of health & wellness due to the pandemic. Along with it, Eco tourism and Adventure tourism will see a boost.

The state is planning to welcome tourists in the next one or two months, informed the tourism minister.

“We are starting off by reviving domestic tourism, first in Kerala and then in other states. An action plan for the sector’s revival is being drawn up. Several support schemes, including providing assistance to tourism stakeholders and employees, are under the government’s consideration”, the Minister said as per a report.

The state will provide content on the digital platform of Incredible India for digital presence.

Like the rest of the states in the country, Kerala tourism too has been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. Hence, a tourism revival plan at this stage an prove beneficial.
