Authorities at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport of Guwahati have set up a set of E-Gates in order to make the entry of passengers both easier and faster.
Travelers departing from the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport of Guwahati will be able to enter the airport seamlessly. They can their tickets and ID proof checked inside the terminal to enter the Security Holding Area (SHA) before boarding of their flights.
The working of the new system is quite simple. New E-gates have been installed at the entry point of the departure terminal. These gates have QR code scanners, allowing passengers can now scan the QR codes on their boarding passes. That will allow the passengers to enter the pre-checking area without needing to show identity cards. Digital boarding passes can also be scanned at these E-gates using any mobile devices.
As of now, four of these gates have been installed in the departure terminal of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. They will become fully functional from the coming tomorrow.
According to a report, a total of 16115 passengers passed through this airport yesterday. Out of these, 8269 people used the departure while 7846 people used the arrival terminal.
