Another favorite tourist destination in the state of Assam, the Manas National Park reopens for tourists from today. The Kaziranga National Park also opened its gates today for tourists. Babul Brahma, Deputy Ranger of Bansbari Range and Sanjit Das , President of Jeep Safari Association of Manas were present for the formal opening. And this reopening marks the start of the 2022-2023 tourism season for the state and the region.
All the reserves in the region as well as most in the country close for tourists during the monsoons. This steep is taken not only to allow safe and free movement in case of flooding in the protected areas, but also to save them from any disturbance during the breeding season.
Coming under the authority of Bodoland Tourism, the Manas National Park has a large number of domestic and foreign visitors. They have improved the park amenities to a good extent for is season. Safari tracks have been repaired where ever needed. Also the popular forest inspection bungalow in Mathanguri has been renovated and upgraded for tourists. Many resorts and campsites have also come up in the vicinity of the park in the recent times. This way, visitors have ample options of accommodation to chose from as the park reopens for tourists.
But with the rise of amenities and services, the prices have also gone up. This year the park authorities have also increased the costing of various services like entry and safari. But the people depending on the tourists still expect a large number of visitors this season.
