Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma inaugurated the Orchid Log House on the 13th of June. The log houses overlook the very beautiful Mawdiangdiang hills of Meghalaya. This new project is funded under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of Ministry of Tourism.

Sangma has expressed his hope regarding the benefits of this project. He says that the Canopy Walkway and the Log house will be sought after tourist destinations.

With its beautiful weather and scenic locations, tourism is very important activity for this Northeastern state.
