Post the Covid 19 global pandemic, the tourism sector turned out to be the worst effected. A large number of people lost their jobs and livelihood. Meghalaya was no different from the rest of the world in this matter, specially since tourism was a major source of income. A lot of new projects were undertaken by the state government in order to revive this sector. For example the Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project has been undertaken to support the musicians and eateries.
