A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Indian Tourism Development Corporation to safely reboot the tourism industry in the country. This MOU between the AIIMS and ITDC is expected to boast the GDP of India as the tourism destinations reopen with precautions.
ITDC is a registered PSU under the Ministry of Tourism to develop tourism in the country and AIIMS is the top medical school of the country. The MOU between AIIMS and ITDC aims to strengthen the existing health protocols for tourists and travel in India.
This MOU also seeks to monitor the Covid-19 pandemic in the country and prevent its propagation. With the gradual opening up of travel and tourism related facilities as a part of Unlock 2, the chances of spreading of the pandemic is even more.
With the hotels and transport facilities opening again for business, proper steps must be taken to prevent infection. Tourism and allied industries form a huge part of the Indian economy and this sector is at a complete standstill since March. And safety from the pandemic is of upmost importance to both the employees and the guests.
A list of Standard Operating procedures to be followed by all personnel involved in this sector right from hospitality to security could be an outcome of this MOU between AIIMS and ITDC .
