New Digital Campaign to Showcase Local Tourism Destinations of Assam

Assam Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Jayanta Malla Baruah announced the start of a new digital campaign to showcase the local tourism destinations of the state. This announcement was made in a press conference held on the eve of International Tourism Day 2020 in the presence of Vice Chairman Navadeep Kalita.

The new digital campaign involves the making of short teasers of various locations across Assam. These videos will be then aired over the various social media handles across different platforms over a duration of time. The chairman also mentioned that importance will be given to the natural landscapes in this series. Also he denied the possibility of any new face as the brand ambassador of Assam Tourism.

The main idea behind this new campaign is to make tourists, domestic and foreign, aware of the what more one can expect in Assam. It also seeks to make the people of Assam and Northeast as a whole, more informed about the various tourism related opportunities in the state.

These locations will include locations like lesser known places of worship, popular picnic spots, unexplored natural formations and the like. More than 200 such locations have been selected across the state for showcasing.

In the post Covid-19 scenario, as an after effect of this digital campaign, tourists will be more aware of the prospects and the service providers will be well equipped to serve the guests.

He also announced two new schemes for the tourism sector of the state as well as optimized an old scheme to suit the needs of the day.
