Northeast Frontier Railways has extended the Vistadome services for tourists coming to the region. This service will now be reach Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh and Badarpur in Assam from Guwahati.
The first one is a new Shatabdi Train connecting Guwahati to Naharlagun starting from the 19th of December. And it will continue with regular services from the 20th. Numbered 12088, this train will leave from Guwahati on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays at 1:45 PM and reach Naharlagun at 7:45 PM. And the return train is numbered 12087 with departure from Naharlagun at 6:45 AM and reach Guwahati at 12:30 PM. These trains will have one vistadome coach, four air conditioned chair cars and two luggage coaches.
Passing through the lush green forests of Assam and the tea gardens of the region, this will undoubtedly help the tourists visiting the regions. It will also help in trade and commerce between the two states.
The second one extends the existing Guwahati – Haflong tourist special service up to Badarpur. Numbered 05887 and 05888 these trains will be available from Guwahati at 6:45 AM every Wednesday and Saturday and from Badarpur at 3:15 PM on the same days of the week. These trains will have one vistadome coach, four ac chair cars, break car and generator and luggage car.
