Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) will start the state of the art Vista Dome Coaches on two routes. This step aims to give the passengers a better view of the natural beauty of the region.
Vista Dome coaches are special coaches of Indian Railways retrofitted with additional glass panes for extra visibility of the surroundings. Few of the railway tracks of the country pass through scenic routes. And since the conventional coaches offer a very limited view of the surrounding, these special coaches are a boon for the travelers.
The first one will run in Assam on the scenic Guwahati – New Haflong route. Train numbered 05888 will leave from Guwahati every Wednesday and Saturday at 6.35 in the morning and reach New Haflong by 11.55 noon. The return from New Haflong will be on the same days at 5.00 in the evenings and reach Guwahati by 10.45 at night.
One can take both the journeys on a single day as the time is suitable.
The second one starts at 7.20 AM from New Jalpaiguri and reaches the destination Alipurduar Junction by 1.00 PM. And the return journey starts 2.00 PM from Alipurduar Junction and reaches New Jalpaiguri by 5.00 PM. This train runs in West Bengal.
Each of these trains will have one vista dome coach and each coach has forty four seats. Both the trains will start their operations on the 28th of this month.
