The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is the biggest airport in Northeast India. And the management has announced the successful upgradation of several passenger amenities in the airport. These changes have been made in terms of both passenger and airline experiences. And these steps have been taken to ensure that the Guwahati Airport stays the leading aviation hub of the region.
Major upgradation has been done to the Baggage Handling System (BHS) by the authorities. They have added additional conveyer belts for moving the luggage. Also, they have created wall cutouts to facilitate seamless connectivity to the check-in counters of the airports. New check-in counters have also been installed in a bid to improve operational efficiency. The creation of new counters and the upgradation of existing ones have been done with the aim of giving the passengers a pleasant check-in experience in the airport.
They have also made changes to the Baggage Makeup Area (BMA). As well as Baggage Breakup Area (BBA) in the airport. These changes include floor maintenance and shed construction. The baggage handling process has also been made more effective and efficient. These upgrades will allow the improved and faster transfer of baggage. And in turn, guaranteeing faster services for the passengers.
They have also completed extensive renovations of the washrooms in two sections of the airport. These are the Baggage Makeup Area and the Security Hold Area of the airport. The authorities have ensured improved sanitary hygiene and better accessibility in the washrooms. These steps are expected to give a top-notch travel experience for all its passengers.
