In yet another ground breaking step by Indian Railways, passenger train services have been started between Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh and Shokhuvi in Nagaland.
Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio flagged of the train from the Shokhuvi station of Nagaland. He mentioned that this new route will definitely help the people from Nagaland as well as Manipur who want to travel to Guwahati. It also makes travels from these locations to Arunachal Pradesh much easier. This will be very helpful for all people including businessmen, working people and students.
15817 and 15818 Donyi Polo Express used to run between Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh and Guwahati in Assam. Northeast Frontier Railways has now extended the range of this train to Shokhuvi in Nagaland. The regular run of the 15818 will leave from Naharlagun at 7:50 PM to reach Guwahati at 4:25 AM and finally Shokhuvi at 9:30 AM. The return train numbered 15817 will leave Shokhuvi at 5:45 PM to reach Guwahati at 11 PM and stop at Naharlagun at 6:45 AM. And this Passenger Train Services will be available daily just like the Donyi Polo Express before the extension.
This train will consist of a 2 AC, one 3 AC, twelve sleeper, and one general coach. With the rest of the necessary coaches, this train will have a total of seventeen coaches.
