Kolkata‘s river cruise on Hooghly was inaugurated by transport secretary Rajesh Sinha on Thursday in the presence of West Bengal Transport Corporation managing director Rajanvir Singh Kapur.
This affordable river cruise at just Rs39 will give you a tour of the rich heritage of the city of joy. The ride will take off from the Millenium park jetty and will return back to the spot.
During the ride, the cruise will pass along Mayerghat, Babughat, Vidyasagar Setu, the Nimtala Ghat etc. The tour will also touch upon the iconic Howrah bridge, Eden Gardens, and Howrah Station along with other important spots. There will be tour guide in the cruise to guide and inform the visitors about the different spots and their historical importance.
The cruise will run twice in a day on weekdays at 4 pm and 6 pm. While on weekends and holidays, there will two extra slots at 12 pm and 2 pm. Not more than 150 people will be allowed in single ride owing to the safety protocols for Covid-19.
For the selfie-lovers, a selfie booth has also been arranged in the cruise. A cruise cafe has also been set up to serve hot beverages and packed snacks.
