The iconic Taj Mahal became barely visible as the air quality in Agra continues to be unhealthy on Wednesday. The grim view has disappointed a bunch of tourists who couldn’t get to behold the majestic wonder.
As reported by ANI, the Air Quality Index (AQI) of the city was at 169 (unhealthy) at 1 pm on Wednesday, as per the CPCB data. “We couldn’t see Taj Mahal clearly today morning,” says Pratik Panwar, a tourist from Mumbai said as reported by the media agency.
With air quality worsening there have been reports of people complaining about burning eyes and breathlessness even sitting inside their homes.
Few days back the Agra Tourist Welfare Chamber Secretary Vishal Sharma in a report expressed concern at the rising pollution levels. He feels that if the air quality continues to deteriorate at this rate, the air will become unbreathable around Diwali. Sharma also urged thew local authorities to take immediate steps to control the pollution.
