Guwahati Traffic police have issued a set of restrictions on traffic movement in the Guwahati city. These restrictions will come into effect on 21st October and will end on 24th October.
Restriction on commercial goods-carrying vehicles
Commercial goods-carrying vehicles can enter the city from 4 AM to 10 AM only. Also, the authorities have restricted the plying of commercial goods-carrying vehicles of six wheels and above on NH 27 and NH 17 falling inside the city limits from 11 AM to 12 midnight on these days.
Routes for vehicular movement during the Dura Puja festival
In the jurisdiction of the Dispur Police Station, Dr RP Road will be one-way from the Ganesh Mandir towards the Ganeshguri flyover. No entry for vehicles coming from Zoo Road towards Ganesh Mandir. No entry from Ganeshguri Whole Sale market to Ganeshguri through Service Road. The Sankardev Path will be one way only from the wholesale market side towards RP road (Ganesh Mandir side).
Under the jurisdiction of Basistha Police Station, no entry from Jayanagar Chariali towards Beltola Tinilai except for vehicles of the local residents. One way from Beltola Tiniali towards Jayanagar Chariali. Bishnu Rabha Path will be one way from Beltola Tiniali towards Bhetapara Chariali. No entry on Dr BN Saikia Road from Beltola Tiniali towards Basistha Chariali. AG office bylane will be one way from the AG office side towards Saurav Nagar and Tripura Goli. Also, no vehicles are allowed to enter from Tripura Goli and Saurav Nagar. Parking of vehicles shall be allowed on one side of Tripura Goli. No entry of vehicles from Basistha Chariali towards Beltola Tiniali except for Local residents.
Under Bharalumukh PS jurisdiction, no entry from Fatasil Chariali, Railway Gate No. 6, 7, 8 and from Sati Jaymati road towards Kumarpara Panchali. No Entry from Chabipool towards Bishnupur and Fatasil Chariali. Also, no Entry from RK Choudhury road towards KRC road. No parking of vehicles on A.T. Road (Athgaon flyover to Bharalumukh) and Dinesh Goswami Road (Between Bharalumukh to Kalipur). Also one-way movement of vehicles will be allowed from Fatasil Charilali to Chabipool. No Entry of vehicles from Sluice gate towards Pragjyotish College on JP Agarwala Road. Also, no Entry of vehicles from Bishnupur Bridge towards Cycle Factory. And no Entry of vehicles from Haryana Bhawan towards Kumarpara Panchali.
Under jurisdiction of Jalukbari PS, no Entry from Maligaon Chariali towards Pandu. Entry is open from Adabari Tiniali to Maligaon Charilai via Pandu Port Road. No Entry of vehicles on P.N.G.B. Road Railway crossing from Gosala side. The vehicles will divert towards Maligaon 3rd gate side. And all vehicles from Kamakhya Railway Station and Gotanagar area will move through Railway Gate No. 3 and Railway HQ. No entry at the entry point of the newly constructed Kamakhya Temple Ghat Road from Pandu Cabin and also from the Kamakhya Mandir side (Near ASTC stoppage).
Under the jurisdiction of Panbazar PS, no entry on MS Road from the Sani Mandir side towards Gate No. 04. Vehicles will move from Railway Gate No. 04 towards Shanimandir. Another no entry of vehicles from MG road towards Khubchand point on Dr JC Das Road (Phulgali). Also, vehicles coming from the Commissioner point towards GNB road will be divert through College Hostel road towards GNB road.
Under the jurisdiction of Chandmari PS and Geetanagar PS, vehicles will not be allowed to enter from Anuradha Point to Hatigarh Chariali. Vehicles will enter from Hatigarh Chariali only. Also, under Noonmati PS, no entry restrictions from Bandana Point to the Refinery gate via SBI Gali.
Restrictions on the movement of city buses
Buses from Basistha Mandir to Garpandu Bus Stand (via Ganeshguri, Zoo Road, Chandmari, Rabindra Bhawan, Kachari, Maligaon) will move via Basistha Chariali, Tripura Goli, Joyanagar, Sixmile, Express Highway, Narengi, Noonmati. Also, Basistha Mandir to Dharapur (via Basistha Chariali BeltolaTiniali, Survey, Supermarket, Ganeshguri flyover, Paltanbazar, AT Road, Bharalumukh, Maligaon) will move via Basistha Chariali, Tripur Goli, Joyanagar, Sixmile, GS Road. Garpandu Bus Stand to Lalganesh (via Maligaon, Kachari, Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati Club, Chandmari flyover, Zoo Road, Ganeshguri, Ganesh Mandir, Kahilipara, Lalganesh) will move via Maligaon, Kachari, Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati Club, Chandmari flyover, Noonmati, Patharquarry, Express Highway, Sixmile, GS Road, Supermarket, Last Gate, Ganesh Mandir – Kahilipara – Lalganesh.
Busses from Natbama to Amingaon (via RP Road, Ganeshguri, Chandmari, Kachari, Amingaon) will move via National Highway 27, Tripura Goli, Express Highway, Narengi, Noonmati, Chandmari, Amingaon. And for the Panjabari to Dharapur (via Sixmile, Supermarket, Last Gate, Ganesh Mandir, Zoo Road, Chandmari, MG road) will move via Express Highway, Noonmati, Chandmari, MG Road to their destination. Also, from Dharapur, the City Buses shall move via Maligaon, Chandmari, Zoo Road over Ganeshguri flyover and Sixmile flyover.
Restrictions in movement of commercial passenger vehicles
Vehicles having all Assam Tourist Permits coming from the Lower Assam side will stop at Adabari bus terminus. Similarly, vehicles from the Upper Assam side will move to the ISBT, Betkuchi. Also, ASTC undertaking buses coming from the Lower Assam side to Paltan Bazar shall not be allowed to enter from Jalukbari and will be diverted to ISBT.
