The Northeastern part of the country is ready to get the first Vande Bharat Express Train in the region. The regular services are expected to be inaugurated on Thursday. This new train is expected to be of great help to the travellers of the region.
The test run for the train was conducted on Sunday, as an eight-coach train reached Guwahati from New Jalpaiguri station.
“#VandeBharatExpress the symbol of rail travel with Speed and latest amenities reached Guwahati railway station, the Gateway of the Northeast for the first time during a trial run conducted today from New Jalpaiguri” tweeted Northeast Frontier Railways with a video of the trial run train reaching the Guwahati railway station.
This Vande Bharat Express is likely to operate six days a week. And it has been allocated train numbers 22227 for Up and 22228 for Down journeys. The train is expected to cover about 410 km within just 6 hours on the route. It will be the third Vande Bharat Express for West Bengal and the first one for Assam. It will also be the 17th Vande Bharat Express train in the country.
The additional divisional railway manager of the Katihar division had earlier announced the trial run of the train on Saturday.
